The Shree Math
 
Shree Ramachandrapura Math occupies a pre-eminent position among the matha established by Adi Shankara for the propagation of Sanathana Dharma.

Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, the present pontiff of the Shree Math, is the 36th guru in the avichinna parampara ( the unbroken lineage ). He took decksha from Brahmaikya Shree Shree Raghavendra Bharathi Swamiji, the previous pontiff, in April 1994. Since his peetaarohana in 1999, the present pontiff has dedicated himself to usher in an era of happiness, peace and prosperity to the entire humanity. Swamiji’s intellectual and spiritual strength, moral vision and compassion place him on par with great religious leaders of the world.

Our Heritage
Shree Ramachandrapura Math was established over thousand two hundred years ago at Gokarna by Adi Shankara, who anointed his disciple Shree Vidyananda as the first pontiff.

• The sacred idols of Shree Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Rajarajeshwari and the Chandramouleeshwara lingam which were worshiped by Agasthya Muni and Varadamuni were entrusted to Shree Vidyananda by Adi Shankara, to worship till eternity.

• The Shree Math has a wide following all over India and abroad and devotees who belongs to different communities seek the spiritual guidance of Swamiji.


• In addition to the main math at Hosanagara, there are nine shakha maths at Gokarna, Kekkar, Theerthahalli, Apsarakonda, Peraje, Bhankuli, Chadurahalli, Bangalore and Sirsi in Karnataka.

• Under the guidance of the present pontiff, the Shree Matha has undertaken a number of religious, social, educational, cultural and environmental programmes especially for the benefit of the rural population.

Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji dedicated his life to save cattle’s in India under project “Kamadugha”. Kamadugha is a unique project to save, propagate and research Indian breed of cattle. Shree Swamiji took a number of awareness campaigns to spread the importance of Indian cow breed and one of them is "Vishwa Gou Sammelana" a Nine day world conference and festival on Indian breed cattle will bw held from April 21 to 29, 2007 at Shreemath, Hosanagara in the presence of Sreemadjagaduru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji and guidence by members of National Committee
