April 20 : Interview of Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji

Campaign to continue until the last cows is protected An interview with Shrimajjadguru Shankaracharya Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapura Math in Hosanagar.

For the first time in the history of Karnataka, an exclusive conference on protecting cows is being organized at a small village between April 21 and 29.
Shrimajjadguru Shankaracharya Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapura Math in Hosanagar said that the aim of the conference is to advocate the principle that cows are the universal remedy for all the problems persisting in India.
Indian socio-cultural, economic and agrarian life is completely dependent on cow community. The history proves that the cows are the rich source for the over all development of our country. In the wake of this priority should be accorded for protecting cows by public and people’s representatives.

In the wake of the Global stature conference, the seer paid a visit to the media center set up in Bangalore and was available for an exclusive interview.
Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji has explained the importance of cows, its products, the present status of its progeny and medicinal value of cow’s products.
Cows have been subjected to all kinds of atrocities. They have been deprived of natural birth and death going against the law of nature.

Cows have been deprived of their natural rights. After using them for our benefits they have been slaughtered, he rued. The conference aims protecting the cows from being over exploited.
Cows are being slaughtered at three stages. A farmer who rears a cow is responsible for its killing by selling it when it becomes useless. When a butcher purchases a cow at market becomes the second stage while abattoir is the third stage where it would be slaughtered.
Urine of cows has tremendous medicinal values and has been used in curing dreaded disease like cancer. A patient has to undergo unbearable pain under contemporary therapies. Cow’s urine has become successful in several therapies as against the other kinds of therapies.
Not only the milk, even the urine of the cow is useful and urine of the cow is available through out the life span of a cow. Whereas a cow could give milk only for limited period.
One litre of milk may fetch Rs 15 while the same quantity of urine brings Rs 130. In Kanpur cow’s urine costs Rs 160 per litre. It has magropagus, an antibiotic quality to keep diseases at bay.
American Times has reported that all pharmaceuticals in the world would face extinction when qualities of cow’s urine is realized. Farmers have to change their mind set. Instead of selling them in market for slaughtering they could donate it to math.

The concept of cow bank has been created. If a person feels rearing a cow is burden he can deposit the cow in cow bank. Later, he can get it back. Cows will be purchased as per the rates prevailing in market. Cow banks have already been set up in several parts of the state including in North Karnataka. Diverting his attention to society, the pollution has reigned supreme. Cows have no place in cities and towns. On the contrary, no city survives without the supply of milk.
Why stress on indigenous breeds?
The seer has an evidential answer for this question. Swamiji says all cows cannot be called as 'Govu'. A cow must have three qualities. Indian cows will have a mount on its back. The skin would be hanging large like a garland and it would have a whirlpool kind mark (Suryakethunadi) on its back. The non-Indian breeds will lack all these three qualities. Bas Indicus in the only Indian breed of cow. These feed on only qualitative grass. Sankara breed has dominated over the country breed which appeared after 1960s. Indian breeds are stronger and has resistance power. Gir breeds have become successful in Brazil for milching. The non-Indian breeds have been subjected to atrocity and harassment by forcing them to adopt to the Indian climatic condition.
Unhygienic slaughter houses:
The condition of slaughter house is so bad that even a butcher does not wish to stay. They had to stay put in an unhygienic condition. Annually, around 90 per cent of them change their job.
