Government
has planned to start well established veternary hospitals
in
every hobli centres at an estimated cost of Rs 28 crore
and in some
hoblis it was already started, Kumaraswamy said. He
asked the swamiji to
extend the cow protection convention to other places
in the State.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa
said,
government has committed to protect the cow breed in
the State and
earmarked special funds in the budget for the same.
Government would provide
land on contract basis or financial assistance to a
organisation or
person who come forward to protect cows, under this
scheme, he added.
Scheme was initiated in the last year itself, but, response
was poor.
Adding, this year, scheme would be implemented in 15
districts and
later, it would be extend to all the districts in the
State, Yediyurappa
said.
Financial assistance of Rs 50,000 and subsidy would
be provided to poor
women for nourishing cows under 'Amrut' scheme. Along
with it Rs 10,000
assistance would be provided for purchasing oxes for
the farmers, he
added.
Doddaballapur Narayana Reddy was felicitated with 'Gopal
Gowrava' award
by the swamiji, for his contribution to the scientific
method of
nourishing cows. Irrigation minister K S Eshwarappa
also spoke on the
occasion.
Power minister H D Revanna, Bollywood actor Suresh Oberai,
MLAs Araga
Jnanendra, Beluru Gopalkrishna and other dignitaries
were present in the
function.
